Angels on a Mission
Angels on a Mission is a service club for 5th thru 8th graders of our parish. We have one or two activities monthly, either after school or on weekends. For those attending St. Dominic, a newsletter is sent via the Wednesday folders. For students of other schools, I send a newsletter through the CCD classes or by mail. If you are currently not a member, but would like to join, give me a call.
Pay attention because some of this info is for THIS WEEK.
** Tuesday, Dec. 6th- We are going to ALLEN MEMORIAL NURSING HOME to decorate Christmas trees for the residents. We will meet at the school office after dismissal and load up on the bus at 3:15. Plans are to return by 5:00. If you want to go, you MUST have your permission slip turned in by Friday, Dec. 2nd to the school office. (Some permission slips are in the school office- also on the website.) I need chaperones’ and students’ names so I can tell the bus company how many are going. Chaperones, please send me a note or e-mail me if you can join us.
Wed., Dec. 7th- EVERYONE is welcome to decorate socks for the Reg. Sch. students. Meet in Rm. 5A at 3:00. We will be through at 3:45. Make sure your parents know the time. I need chaperones for this.
Friday, Dec. 9th- Those on the Christmas team will meet at the library at 1:45 to go to the Regional School. You will return at 2:45. Permission slips MUST be turned in to me or you cannot go. (I will send you one early next week.) Names of those on the Christmas team can be found HERE. I need chaperones for this, too.
Saturday, Dec. 10th- PARTY FOR THE DISABLED
Deacon Ed Connick and the St. Vincent de Paul Society throw a party for these folks on Saturday, Dec. 10th from 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. (I think these times are right.) This is the same group we throw the Easter party for, so if you enjoy that, this is right up your alley. They especially need you from 9:00 to 11:00 to dance with them and to help get food out at 11:00 a.m. I won’t be there, but Deacon Ed will tell you what to do.
There is no need for permission slips for this. You are going on your own to help out.
CAROLING
We will go caroling on Sunday, Dec. 18th at 5:30 p.m, along with other parishioners. Dinner will be provided when we get back. We will have a bus to drive the kids around, unless your whole family wants to join us. It is a parish event! No permission slips needed.
DECORATE CHURCH FOR CHRISTMAS
We will be decorating the church on Dec. 23rd , immediately following the 8:00 a.m. Mass. Bring your family and join us for a special morning.
