- All adults (people over 18) who have contact with our students must be trained in the Child and Adolescent Protection Program through the Archdiocese of Mobile. This is VERY IMPORTANT. An adult who is not trained may not volunteer with the school children, and may be asked to leave. This is for the protection of our children. Please make every effort to receive initial training if you have not yet. The classes are offered on the fourth Tuesday of each month at St. Dominic. Those who have received initial training must keep their certification updated annually. This may be done online by logging on to www.mobilearchdiocese.org There, all information can be found under the “Office of Child Protection”. If you do not want to do it online, you may also update by attending a regular class. Once you have updated your training, your name will be registered and renewed in the database. Please contact the school office if you have any questions.
- Notice from the church office- In order to receive the contributing rate of tuition for the 2010-2011 school year, $500.00 must be turned into the church office by May 31, 2010.
- Please consider participating in the SCRIP program this year. To learn more about SCRIP, look for flyers in the Wednesday folders, or call any of our PTO officers. Orders are due in on Tuesday of each week. The phone number for the SCRIP office is: 661-4350.
- Open Registration has begun! If you have not yet turned in your registration papers for next year, please do so as soon as possible. Spaces for next year are filling up! If you have questions about anything, please feel free to call the office.
- Tuition assistance applications for 10-11 are now available in the school office. Applications must be picked up and signed out by an adult. All applications must be submitted by April 19 in order to be considered.
- Thank you so much to everyone who came out to volunteer with Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart! This is always a very special day for our students. Your help made things run very smoothly!
- ITBS standardized testing begins Monday for grades 2-8: Please make sure your children are at school on time each day. Testing begins each day at 8:00 and doesn’t end until 9:30. Students arriving to school after testing begins will not be permitted to enter the classroom until testing is over. Also, students may not be checked out early during those times, so please make appropriate plans. In grades 2, 4, and 7, testing will also take place on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, March 10-12 from 10:10-11:10. The same rules will apply to those times. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and consideration. We know that your child’s optimum achievement is as important to you as it is to us!
- The Grandparents Day for 3rd and 6th grade has been rescheduled to be included with 2nd and 5th grade on March 19th.
- Stations of the Cross are observed every Friday during Lent at 2:15 in the church. Anyone is welcome to join us!
