The resource program at St. Dominic School was started in the 83-84 school year.  It was originally called the VIP program which stood for “very important person “.  A teacher and an aide conducted the program in the current after school room.  The program was started to help identified learning disable students to reach their potential in the regular classroom.  The program later became known as the resource room. 

      Eligibility for the Resource Room

1.    Each student must have a combination of the following current reports:
      a.    hearing and vision
      b.    an evaluation covering the area of concern
      c.    individual diagnostic tests as deemed necessary by the classroom and/or
resource room teachers
      d.    any other information which may help in evaluating the student’s needs

2.    A conference will be held to decide if the student’s needs will be best
met by attending the resource room.  This conference may consist of:
      a.    principal and involved teachers
      b.    psychometrist and/or counselor
      c.    parents and student (when the need is indicated)
