The physical education program at St. Dominic School requires active participation from students in grades K-8. The program is based on the State Department of Education Course of Study and the President’s Physical Fitness recommendations.  The program is designed to meet the safety, health, physical and recreational needs of the students while fostering a Christian attitude toward good sportsmanship. All students must participate and dress out (grades 4-8) in Physical Education unless prohibited by a doctor. A doctor’s written recommendation is required and must be on file at school. After an absence from school due to an illness, a parent’s written request may excuse a student from P.E. for a short period of time (1 or 2 days maximum). 

First Quarter:
Grades K - 3 Objectives: Gross Motor Development; Eye - Hand Coordination: Spaitial Awareness (moving in their own space among others); Fitness (improved endurance); Rhythems

Grades 4 - 8 Objectives: Large muscle activity with developmental potential; Eye - Hand Coordinations; Understanding of the rules and following the rules of volleyball and disc golf.

Unit 1, Girls - Volleyball
Unit 2, Girls - Disc Golf

Unit 1, Boys - Disc Golf
Unit 2, Boys - Volleyball

Fitness - Improved Endurance
