"The pipe organ is to be held in high esteem in the Latin Church, since it is its traditional instrument, the sound of which can add a wonderful splendor to the Church's ceremonies and powerfully lift up men's minds to God and higher things." -- Musicam Sacram, 1967

The St Dominic organ, built by the Wicks Organ Company, Opus 5490, is the largest instrument of its kind in the Archdiocese. The 41 rank instrument was originally purchased from Capitol Street United Methodist Church in 2004 along with 9 additional ranks from the Wicks Organ Company. Installation was completed in the Spring of 2008 in the church's rear gallery. It's 4 manual console, built by the Allen Organ Company, controls 105 stops and 122 pipe and digital ranks. Additonal ranks are to be added to create an antiphonal organ in the front of the church. The combined instruments will be playable from the main console. This project is part of our long range planning for St Dominic. Our goal is to insure that we have the means to support our liturgies musically for many generations to come.
